A Message from the Therapist

I’m Kiera Gordon, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than ten years of experience in healthcare and behavioral health. Over the years, I’ve worked as a Behavioral Health Care Manager, Program Manager, Therapist, Wellness Educator, and Wellness Specialist. I am committed to mental health advocacy and creating sustainable wellness.

As the founder and lead therapist of 9352 Health and Wellness, I focus on solution focused therapy and behavioral modification. I work with individuals who have stopped and restarted their wellness journey more than a few times, the ones who say, “I’ll start eating better, exercising more, and making healthier choices on Monday,” but when Monday comes, they push it to the next Monday. I help people move past that cycle by building discipline, consistency, and practical strategies that create lasting change. Through virtual therapy, community workshops, and program leadership, I guide individuals and organizations in building sustainable wellness practices while reducing stigma around mental health.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Florida A&M University and my Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

At 9352 Health and Wellness, we utilize Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to guide your behavior modification, in the areas of self-improvement, fitness, and re-entry.

What therapeutic approach do you use?

We use Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy(SFBT) is a goal-oriented approach that emphasizes building solutions rather than focusing on problems, typically within 5 to 8 sessions. It operates on the belief that individuals possess the strengths and resources needed to overcome challenges. Therapists help clients envision a preferred future, identify their strengths, and develop practical strategies to achieve their goals, facilitating personal growth and transformation.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that aims to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It operates on the principle that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Over 6 to 12 sessions, therapists help clients recognize unproductive thinking, reframe their thoughts, and develop new habits to achieve desired behaviors.

How can therapy help me?

Therapy can help you by providing support, identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors, improving coping strategies, fostering personal growth and self-awareness helping you lead the life you desire.

How can a gym companion help me?

A gym companion can help you by  offering a warmer, more supportive approach than personal training and more hands-on guidance than a group class. A gym companion is ideal if you are not quite ready for a trainer but also do not feel comfortable working out alone.
